SCOTTISH JEWISH ARCHIVE GLASGOW
ARKA was commissioned to refurbish and reinvent the archives centre and incorporate a new exhibition on Jewish settlement in Scotland called ‘A New Life in Scotland’.
We worked closely with the archives’ curators to fully understand their requirements and the potentially sensitive and culturally significant nature of the project. We provided them with an informative, accessible space which is suitable for a wide range of purposes and people – ranging from young school groups to university students on educational visits, site-seeing tourists and local members of the Jewish community.

RSPB BIRD FEEDER
KELVINGROVE ART GALLERY, GLASGOW
We were commissioned by the RSPB to create a unique sculpture with integrated bird feeding station to be permanently located in one of Glasgow’s most popular tourist destination – Kelvingrove Art Gallery. The sculpture compliments the existing collections within the museum and gives visitors a chance to view birds and learn more about them in their natural environment. We took our inspiration from one of natures most recognisable forms - and created a sculpture of a giant egg with integrated bird feeding station. We worked closely with the RSPB staff to develop elements of the design to ensure the feeder would attract the local wildlife in the surrounding park.
